Nearly three dozen APS schools receive State Superintendent Distinguished Achievement Awards

Thirty-four Atlanta Public Schools (APS) elementary and middle schools were recognized for their academic achievement and improved performance on state standardized tests by the second annual State Superintendent Distinguished Achievement Awards program. The same number of APS schools were recognized last year as winners of the inaugural Distinguished Achievement Awards.

District schools earned awards in 69 categories and were recognized for top achievement in several of them.  The top APS state award winners are Williams Elementary (8), West Manor Elementary (4) Inman Middle (3), Jackson Elementary (3), Turner Middle (3) and Harper-Archer Middle (3). APS charter schools taking top honors include Charles Drew (5) and University Community Academy (4).
