Sutton Middle School teachers are upstanding ‘fellows’

by talkupaps

Sutton Middle School‘s Nina Edelstein (English/language arts, sixth grade) and Dan Lloyd (English/language arts, eighth grade) have been named Dobbs Teaching Fellows for the 2009-2010 school year.  This prestigious fellowship by the R. Howard Dobbs, Jr. Foundation comprises a professional learning community of 10 professional educators — a collaboration between public (Atlanta Public Schools) and private school faculty (Westminster, Holy Innocents, Paideia, Lovett, Galloway, and Pace.

Along with their cohorts, Edelstein and Lloyd will explore the current research, pedagogy and best practices of 21st century teaching and learning.  The professional learning community will create an educational vision, study and implement technological tools and research and apply learning theory as a way to improve daily teaching practice for a 21st century classroom.

This a tremendous honor for teachers, the schools and community!
