Today in all cities across the country, for the 17th year, the NFL and United Way celebrated Hometown Huddle. The Atlanta Falcons, other NFL players, coaches and executives, participated in a series of volunteer community projects in seven Atlanta Public Schools campuses – Bethune, Connally, Jones and Venetian Hills Elementary schools; Brown Middle School, KIPP STRIVE Academy Primary and KIPP W.A.Y.S. Academy.
Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Meria J. Carstarphen, Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank and members of the Atlanta Board of Education also joined the players, students and staff for the fun health-focused day. Falcons players and cheerleaders promoted physical fitness as a part of the NFL’s PLAY 60 initiative.
