
This just in, from the Georgia Department of Education: Carter G. Woodson Elementary has been named a 2009 National Blue Ribbon School, along with five other metro Atlanta schools.
Woodson follows fellow APS school F.L. Stanton Elementary, which was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2008.

These seven schools are outstanding examples of how high expectations and hard work can lead to outstanding student achievement. These schools show that, regardless of a school’s size, geography or demographics, all students can achieve at high levels.
