APS got active this past Saturday and more than 400 runners participated in the APS 5K and Character Fun Run at Herman J. Russell West End Academy.
The race took the runners on a short 3.1-mile loop in the West End passing through the Atlanta Beltline and returning to the school campus. The Department of Academics and Schools led the way with 33 team members registered, while Brandon Elementary was the school with the most registrants.
Therrell High School had the largest combination of runners and volunteers, and Big Brother & Big Sisters had the largest community team at the race.
