Students from across the district came together dressed in their finest, dancing the night away and making lasting memories with friends, teachers, and families.
Usher-Collier Elementary School had a special guest for their Author Visitāactor and comedian Keenan Thompson! šāØ He joined our students for a fun and engaging book reading that blended literacy and comedy, inspiring our young readers to discover the joy of books.
Moments like these help show our students that reading can be exciting, creative, and full of laughter. Thank you for helping us promote a love of reading at Usher Elementary!
John Lewis Invictus Academy celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new Verizon Innovative Learning Lab. This state-of-the-art space gives students hands-on access to emerging technologies and creative tools that help turn their ideas into reality. The Atlanta Public Schools Office of Teaching and Learning proudly hosted its 3rd Annual CTAE 5K, bringing together students, families, educators, and community partners for a powerful cause. This exciting event goes beyond the finish line ā itās about creating meaningful opportunities for students across the district.
The CTAE 5K supports Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs by raising scholarship funds that help students access new experiences and opportunities. From industry certifications and specialized training to competitions, internships, and career exploration opportunities, these scholarships open doors and expand possibilities for future success.
Participants laced up not only to run or walk, but to invest in the dreams and potential of Atlantaās students. The energy, unity, and commitment shown at this yearās event reflect the districtās dedication to empowering learners and preparing them for college, career, and life.

During this yearās Hank Aaron Week, we officially unveiled the first of four fields of our Hank Aaron Diamonds program. The new turf infields and facility upgrades were provided by the Henry Louis Aaron Fund and The Atlanta Braves Foundation.

Literacy Beyond the Stars was a magical evening where elementary students and their families came together to celebrate the joy of reading. Hosted by the Office of Early Learning, the event featured stories, hands-on activities, and shared moments designed to inspire a lifelong love of books.
By encouraging families to read together at home, Literacy Under the Stars supports students beyond the classroom and helps make reading a fun, meaningful part of everyday life.
