Atlanta, GA – Atlanta Public Schools (APS) will host the 2013 College and Career Motivation Week (CCMW) on Monday, November 18 – Friday, November 22, 2013 on each of its elementary, middle and high school campuses.
Research shows that a key factor in educating youth is motivating them to learn. The purpose of the College and Career Motivation Week is to encourage and inspire students to focus on success in school as they plan for college. CCMW is also designed to make students more aware of career options and help them better prepare to compete in a global society.
Last year, the College and Career Motivation Week focused on middle and high schools. This year, the district is seeking to make a bigger impact on the lives and attitudes of students by expanding to include elementary schools as well. The district is also enhancing the event by hosting a high-intensity college and career fair as the kick-off on November 18th at Atlanta Metropolitan State College. Students from grades 4 thought 12 will be invited to attend this off-campus event.
